Long weekend!!!
KIM moved to Calgary yesterday! I met up with Kim, her sister Carrie and Carries roomie Suzanne today for lunch. They told me they were going to be on stephens street so I headed down there to meet up with them. There is a rapid transit system in Calgary and in the down town core it is free so I intended to take the train there but it is closed for maintenence so I walked. I was a nice walk, the weather was spectacular. I tried a few times along the way to get cash out of a bank machine, but this was a tougher task then I thought it would be. The first place I tried was the TD bank on the main floor of the td tower. I went into the vestibule and there was a homeless man asleep under the banking machine so I quickly left. I then went to the other side of the tower into the mall and that machine was broken. I was talking with a couple and they decided to just pay visa for their lunch, but the guy offered to kick the homeless guy out of the other side for me, I told him that was very nice of him but i would continue along my way. I came accross two other out of order machines before I found a scotia bank with a working machine. i walked along stephens street which is a street that is closed to regular traffic and has a lot of outdoor patios. I had a lovely lunch with the girls and then we headed towards the Eau Claire area of Calgary. It was really nice, lots of patios and flowers and its right on the river. We got ben and jerry's for dessert and sat and ate it on the side of the river. We sat there enjoying the sun and the lovely surroundings until people started feeding the birds around us and then the flying seagulls circling around were too much for me. We split at this point and I decided to walk home through the park system. I went over to princes island park and LOVED it, it was sooooo pretty, the park with trails along the water reminded me sooooo much of the waterfront trail in Mississauga and Toronto which is one of my fav. places back home, As I was walking along this area I could feel that I liked this city, that it wasn't a horrible concrete jungle with no greenery. When I got back to my building I didn't quite feel ready to leave the pretty weather so i moved my big chair outside and read on the balcony for a while and I think I may have got some colour!!!
ok, I should call kel and see what i need to pick up for dinner!!

I didn't know Kim was moving there. That's awesome Claire, soon you will have a whole posse there!
Remember when the word posse was cool? It's not cool anymore.
